Got my survival knife last week. It’s definitely a beautiful thing and the sheafs that Randy makes are incredible. And I just got an email yesterday from great Northern knives that my Pathfinder model is on its way. Can’t wait to get my hands on that. Thank you for all your good work. Hi William, this is a great down to earth video, if I may make a suggestion, you might include a dust mask, eye protection, and a few zip ties for quick repairs etc. I must say I'm impressed whith your kit, and the reasons why you picked each item, I hope you never have to use this bag, but having it ready, and to hand will be a big bonus if ever shtf comes your way. Happy birthday William. Skinnier the better for a chefs knife for sure. People tend to forget butchering is about finesse and not trying to chop through bone. I think the Greeks do butchering best. Either way I know you’ll make a great knife.

Happy Birthday Youngin'!! I'd have pegged ya not a day over 35, like Blackie 😁🤣. Idk much bout kitchen knaffs, but if ya already got master chef in 1/16" then I'd say 1/8" in full flat. My 2 cents. If 1/16" I'd say high saber. However I'd say it's cutting hairs between the two & we already know your blades excel at that. Have great day.

Happy Birthday!! Now, this is a good question-thinner or thicker? Thinner for the kitchen and thicker for the camp. Camp chef knife or Wilderness Chef knife would be better differentiate the intended design applications between camp and kitchen.
@@RidgidRon I think that is for the user to decide how they want to use it. That is the reason for the question. The design intent is kitchen prep. Location is a user’s choice.
